Tips & Planning for Visiting Pumpkin Patches

To make your visit smooth and enjoyable:

  1. Book in advance when required. Many of the big events (Secretts, Garsons, Crockford Bridge etc.) require booking time-slots or tickets. Slots can sell out.

  2. Check opening dates & times. Many patches run during October; some begin late September, others only later in the month.

  3. Wear suitable clothing & footwear. Fields can be muddy, paths uneven. Wellies might be a good idea. Dress for the weather.

  4. Bring your own tools / carriers if possible. Wheelbarrows may be provided but in limited numbers; bring a sturdy bag or box for pumpkins.

  5. Check the dog policy ahead. If you have a dog, double check whether dogs are allowed in the field, or only in parts of the farm. Some places restrict them event-wide.

  6. Arrive earlier in the day if possible. For better choices for pumpkins, fewer crowds, better light for photos.

  7. Have cash and card. Some vendors may prefer or only take card, others might take cash. Best to have both.
