Going back in time is always enjoyable, especially when you’re with family and friends. Across East Sussex and the whole of the south-east region, there are a number of visitor attractions that are committed to keeping the past alive, and one of the very best is the excellent Lavender Line. Back in the 1850s, this line was built to form part of the important London to Brighton route, but it finally closed back in the 1960s.
These days, the lovingly restored Lavender Line offers visitors an opportunity to see what train travel felt like during its golden age. Return trips from Isfield to Worth Halt on the fabulous Lady Lisa are a delight for all ages, so settle back and take in the sights, the sounds and the smells of a nostalgic trip down Memory Lane. There’s plenty to see and do during your time here, including a visit to the Grade II-listed signal box and to the excellent gift shop.
In addition, you’ll also find a great selection of tempting food and drink options at Lavender’s, the venue’s popular café. The Lavender Line is located at Isfield, close to Uckfield in the heart of East Sussex. Days out that take you back to another era are ready and waiting to be savoured here, so bring the family and hop on board for a wonderful experience.
Please check the venue’s website for the opening times.
