Come to Chichester and Arundel and look out for the wonderful owl sculptures

One of the things we love most about our region is its quirkiness, and this manifests itself in a number of cheerful, charming and charismatic ways. In the summer of 2024, visitors to Chichester and Arundel can look out for something more than a little unusual. Here’s where you’ll find an artistic event like no other; 30 uniquely designed owl sculptures, each of them brightly coloured and exceedingly beautiful.

Local maps are available in both Chichester and Arundel, or you can download the app to your phone, so all that’s left for you to do is take to the streets and enjoy the search. The Big Hoot offers a wonderful opportunity spend some quality time with friends or family, and not have to spend a fortune in the process.

The 30 larger owls are located in outdoor public spaces, and there are 30 more smaller ones to be found in shops, museums and libraries. These were decorated by local schools and groups. With help from the map, you should be able to find them all. And when the Big Hoot comes to a close in September, the larger sculptures will be auctioned off, with proceeds going to the excellent Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice.
