South Farm, Rodmell

The south of England in general, and East Sussex in particular, is home to some absolutely breathtaking countryside, so why not shake off the stresses and strains of being a townie and surrender to some rural beauty instead every once in a while? Just turn off the laptop, put the phone on silent and step away from it all at the glorious South Farm in Rodmell. Here in paradise, it’s so easy to take a deep breath and reflect on how wonderful life can be. 

This is a working farm, a sanctuary that’s located among the iconic South Downs, and if you haven’t paid a visit yet you really should do something about it. There are a number of activities that appear on the calendar throughout the year, including a fun maize maze for all the family and a chance to pick big, juicy pumpkins in the run-up to Halloween.  

And if you’re intending to step away from the hamster wheel for longer than a day, you may be interested to know there are ten fully furnished bell tents welcoming overnight escapees. It’s amazing to think that so much tranquillity can be found just a few miles from the bustling streets of Lewes and Brighton. 

South Farm is located due north of Peacehaven, and is within easy reach of Newhaven and Falmer.
