Sheffield Park and Garden (National Trust)

Ideal for: Everyone
Head off to explore the fabulous Sheffield Park, a National Trust property that's home to deliciously landscaped gardens and plenty of beautiful woodland

The National Trust maintains a number of beautiful properties right across the south-east, and Sheffield Park is one of the very best. If you’re looking for acre after acre of gorgeous landscaped garden and picturesque lakes, you’ll find them right here. The surrounding parkland, all part of the wider Sheffield Park estate, covers an area of over 300 acres.

We all seem to be having to cope with stresses and strains in our everyday lives, but a visit to Sheffield Park offers the perfect antidote to the general chaos. As soon as you enter the grounds, you can feel those tensions start to lift. The five lakes, the stylish bridges, the manicured garden and the ever-changing flora and fauna provide an experience that you will want to repeat time and time again.

And as soon as you start to feel the hunger pangs kicking in, make tracks to the Coach House Café and settle in for some delicious food and a refreshing drink or two. In the summer months, savour an al fresco ice cream and simply watch the world go by. This is living, isn’t it?

Sheffield Park is located on the A275 road midway between Lewes and East Grinstead. It’s just a 15-minute walk from the Bluebell Railway’s Sheffield Park station as well.
