Rottingdean Beach

Ideal for: Couples, Everyone, Families, Older Flyers, Physically Impaired, Solo Flyers
An idyllic location that's perfect for both the active and those seeking peace and quiet, Rottingdean Beach is something of a must-visit

Rottingdean is a peaceful, pretty little village just a couple of miles to the east of Brighton, with a historic centre and plenty of character cottages to admire. What is also has, it should be noted, is a beach that’s just perfect for a day out with friends or family. There’s plenty to enjoy here, and how you spend your time is, of course, going to be up to you.

Perhaps first and foremost, how about a lovely long walk beneath the clifftop? The undercliff walk to Brighton Marina is a daily ritual for many, and it’s easy to see why. The views out to the English Channel are beautiful, and the air, as you can imagine, is extremely bracing. Whether you’re with the kids, with the dog, with a loved one or all alone, you’re sure to enjoy it. For even more dramatic vistas, take a stroll along the clifftops instead.

Many people enjoy a swim at Rottingdean Beach in the summer months. The beach features gently shelving shingle, and it has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. There’s a car park and a café nearby as well as a supermarket, so you have every excuse to find a spot on the beach and while away the whole day.
