Riverside Nature Reserve

Ideal for: Couples, Everyone, Families, Older Flyers, Physically Impaired, Solo Flyers
Leaving the rat race behind is easy when you spend time here, so forget the pressures and soak up everything that Mother Nature has to offer

A pleasant wander around an idyllic location is always enjoyable, but it’s extra special when it’s in a highly impressive haven for local wildlife. The wonderful Riverside Nature Reserve is something of a hidden gem in the heart of Surrey, located close to Guildford’s Spectrum Leisure Complex. It’s so easy to spend time here and forget all about the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

You’ll find so much to see at the Riverside Nature Reserve, including birdwatching from inside the hide. You can take a stroll through the wetlands on a boarded walkway, too, and you can take in the idyllic views of the reed bed and the creatures that call it home. Be sure to bring a camera with you, because you’ll surely want to capture some images of your time spent here.

There’s a car park nearby in Bowers Lane, and if you enjoy al fresco dining you can enjoy a picnic at one of the tables provided. The reserve is 30 hectares in size, and it has won a prestigious Green Flag Award, too. What else could you possibly want from a day out among the rural splendour?
