Polegate and District Model Engineering Club

Polegate and District Model Engineering Club

Ideal For... Families

There’s something wonderfully evocative about train travel, especially when it’s more about enjoying the ride than trudging to the office. If you’re looking for an experience that takes you back to the days when we travelled for nothing more than pleasure, this is the place for you. Polegate and District Model Engineering Club is located in Brightling Road, close to Eastbourne and within easy reach of Newhaven, Hastings and Lewis.

You’ll find a number of miniature train rides to enjoy here, including diesel and electric, and as you might expect there’s also a steam train for those who love nostalgia. All rides are free of charge, although the club welcomes donations from the public, too. The trains and the tracks are maintained and operated by volunteers, and their passion for the venue is all too apparent.

Here at GoLark, we love to see community-based venues that offer exceptional days out, and the Polegate and District Model Engineering Club is a wonderful example of what they can offer. All aboard!
