Hastings Aquarium

Ideal for: Families, Physically Impaired
Journey through naturally themed habitats, including an underwater tunnel with sharks and reef fish. Hastings Aquarium offers a perfect combination of fun and education for all ages.

If you and your party are looking for something fun that’s also going to be educational, be sure to visit the excellent Hastings Aquarium. Located just yards from the town’s famous beach and with plenty of parking nearby, this popular venue offers a day out that both adults and youngsters can really enjoy.

There are several areas to explore, so be sure to plan your time here in advance. The Native Zone is a good place to start, especially if you’re keen to find out more about what’s going on under the waves around the UK. Hastings Aquarium is regarded as an important contributor to marine conservation, so head to the Nursery Tanks to see what species have been successfully bred in recent months.

One of the favourite species of all here can be found in the Ray Tank, where these strange but graceful creatures will swim by to take a look at what’s going on. The Ocean Tank is perfect for inquisitive visitors, because it features a glass tunnel offering excellent views of various creatures, including sharks, rays and more. Be sure to bring your camera!

The Rivers and Estuaries area gives you the opportunity to see some freshwater favourites, too. Finally, it’s back to dry land for the Jungle Room, where you’ll get up close and personal with the likes of snakes, lizards and others. Hastings Aquarium also has an excellent café for much-needed sustenance, as well as a gift shop with an array of toys, souvenirs and more.
