HADO is the world's first augmented reality sport, played on a 10x6m court, with up to 3 players on each team. Shoot orbs of energy at your opponents through actions in the real world, picked up by sensors worn on your wrist and head.
Nothing beats getting together with family, friends or work colleagues for some high-energy, high-enjoyment competition, does it? And here in Hove, you can all take part in something very special. HADO AR Sports offers the world’s first augmented reality sport, all taking part on a 10x6-metre court in an action-packed environment.
The general concept is a simple one, but the technology behind it makes it so much fun. Players wear an augmented reality headset which showcases all the action right in front of their eyes, as well as a wrist sensor which captures movement. What will your strategy involve? You can thrust your arm forwards to fire an energy bullet, for example, or you can adopt a defensive stance by pointing your arm to the floor. And the more you dodge, the more likely you are to avoid your rivals’ energy bullets. At the end of the game, the team with the most KOs will be the winner.
As a rule, HADO is appropriate for ages six to sixty, and is suitable for people with disabilities as well. You don’t need specialist attire or equipment, just comfy clothing, and of course the headset and wristband is supplied by the venue. There’s free parking on site, or if you’re using public transport, it’s less than ten minutes’ walk from Portslade station.
HADO AR Sports is a must-visit for anyone looking for something exciting that’s also just a little bit different, so make sure it’s on your must-try list.
