East Sussex is home to a great many public parks and open spaces, and of course can boast the magnificent South Downs National Park. It’s also home to the excellent Centenary Park in Peacehaven, a location that has proved popular with visitors of all ages. If you’re yet to discover its charms, now is the perfect time to come along and find out what all the fuss is about.
Officially opened in 2015, Centenary Park, also known as the Big Park, offers 11 acres of space. It’s perfect for giving the kids somewhere to let off steam, or exercising both yourself and your dog, or for simply sitting back on a bench and taking in the sights and sounds of a popular and picturesque community asset.
The park offers two superb playgrounds for the youngsters, featuring the likes of a giant swing, a large wood-carved dragon, an acorn tower and plenty more. There’s also a highly rated skatepark for those looking to hone their skills. There have been plenty of fun-packed events held at Centenary Park, including football tournaments, dog shows, music festivals and skate jams. We at GoLark also love the fact that the park has won awards from the likes of the Sussex Heritage Trust, the Campaign to Protect Rural England and the Royal Institute of British Architects.
