Camber Sands

There are few places in the whole region that can claim to be as dramatic or as picturesque as the wonderful Camber Sands. Stretching for around three miles, the beach is an absolute delight and is perfect for days out in East Sussex with friends and family. Home to the county’s only sand dune system, it’s not a surprise to discover that it’s an extremely popular location for movie and TV show productions. 

You’ll find a number of enjoyable activities to take part in, such as kitesurfing, e-biking and boat trips, but of course if all you want is a day at the beach doing very little, you can do so with ease. One of the many benefits of spending time at Camber Sands is the opportunity to create and savour your very own perfect day. No matter what you plan to do, though, you really should bring a bucket and spade because the sand is perfect for castle-making! 

It’s worth pointing out, however, that when the weather is warm and sunny, the beach and the surrounding area can get very busy, so it’s best to come early in order to avoid disappointment. And of course, you will want refreshments here, too. Camber Sands has food and drink options nearby, as well as the obligatory ice cream when you need to cool down. Alternatively, you can bring your own picnic and savour some well-deserved al fresco dining instead.
