Rightly seen as one of the many pleasant West Sussex towns in which to live, Burgess Hill is surrounded a celebrated Green Circle. It acts as a ring of green spaces which connect to one another, acting as a wildlife corridor and, pleasingly, a selection of wide open spaces which are always worth exploring.
One particularly intriguing section is the Burgess Hill Green Circle Public Art Trail, which was created and installed in 2017. Five superb artworks are to be found here, at Grassmere Meadow, Malthouse Lane Meadows, Hammonds Ridge Meadows, Nightingale Lane Meadows and Bedelands Farm Local Nature Reserve.
Each of these artworks represent the contributions made by noted individuals of the past who have strong links to Burgess Hill. In addition, the Green Circle has plenty of information boards along the way, with information for children about local birds, insects and other wildlife. Bring a picnic when you come along, find a peaceful spot and turn the experience into a truly unforgettable day.
