Herstmonceux Castle Estate

Herstmonceux Castle Estate is home to one of the most impressive castles in the south of England, the surrounding grounds are a delight for both horticulture fans and for those who just like to get out and about in the open air. The glorious 15^th-century moated castle provides a fitting backdrop to a hugely enjoyable day out.

Perhaps the highlight of any visit is the gorgeous Elizabethan Garden, set within historic Grade II-listed walls and named after Queen Elizabeth I. On a summer’s afternoon, why not bring a picnic with you and enjoy it on one of the two manicured lawns here?

As well as the Elizabethan Garden at Herstmonceux Castle, you can explore the 300 acres of wild meadows, formal gardens and carefully managed woodland.
