Yvonne Arnaud Theatre

Surrey and Sussex are home to a number of wonderful local theatres that offer fabulous nights out enjoying a wide range of cultural highlights. Right in the heart of Guildford on the banks of the River Wey, you’ll find the excellent Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, a superb facility that’s been entertaining the people of Surrey ever since it first opened its doors way back in 1965. 

Among the wide and varied programme of events, you can enjoy stage plays, operas, ballets and pantomimes, performed by a mix of locally based artistes and touring companies from the UK and abroad. As well as the main auditorium, there’s the smaller, more intimate Mill Studio, which was opened in 1993. And in case you were wondering, the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre is named after a celebrated French-born actress who lived in Guildford for many years. 

And even if you’re not planning to see a show here, you can always come along and enjoy some delicious refreshments. The excellent Riverside Kitchen is to be found here, and it offers a tempting range of hot and cold food and drinks. Whether you’re here for a quick coffee and catch-up with a friend or for a sumptuous meal with a loved one, you’ll want to savour every mouthful.
